Salicylic Acid 10% Peel - Light Strength

The Salicylic 10% is a light strength beta hydroxy acid peel with natural antibacterial properties which make it ideal for targeting blemishes and clearing clogged pores with repeated use. Appropriate for an oily, acneic skin type, it is suitable for first-time users and safe for all skin tones.

Salicylic acid is an oil-soluble beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that penetrates deeply into the skin's pores, making it an effective ingredient for treating oily and acne-prone skin. It is the most commonly used BHA in skincare products, as it has the ability to remove excess oil, debris, and bacteria that contribute to acne formation.

FOR BEST RESULTS

Salicylic 10% is recommended for those who are new to chemical peels. This peel is suitable for those with an oily to combination skin type and is safe for all skin tones. We strongly recommend conducting a patch test 3 days before applying the peel to a large area of skin to ensure no negative or unusual reactions occur.

Prep the skin for a week prior to peel application with an exfoliator, such as our Medpeel Salicylic 2% Daily Exfoliator. This will ensure a more even, thorough absorption of the peel acid. Continuing to exfoliate regularly in between peel treatments will also prolong your results.

DOWNTIME:

The Salicylic 10% peel may have mild downtime and can typically produce light peeling or flaking of the skin. The skin may be a bit pink and tight for a few hours following the peel. It is important to use a broad spectrum sunscreen daily, with a minimum of SPF 30, to protect treated skin during the healing process. You can resume to normal exfoliation after one week.

TARGET SKIN CARE CONCERNS:

Blemishes & blackheads

Clogged pores

Textured skin

Excess oil

The most common BHA in skincare, salicylic acid is an effective ingredient for treating oily and acne-prone skin.

- Deeply cleanses pores to remove impurities

- Helps regulate excess oil production

- Improves overall skin texture and clarity

- Reduces inflammation and prevents breakouts

1oz Acid Peels contain 5-7 applications - This Peel can be repeated every 2 weeks or once the skin has completely healed from the last treatment

DIRECTIONS:

Please read complete instructions that arrive with your peel prior to application.

Step 1: Wash the skin with a gel based cleanser and pat dry. Wipe the Peel Prep Solution across the area to be treated to ensure the skin is properly cleansed.

Step 2: Apply the Salicylic 10% peel to a gauze pad and smooth it over the desired area of the face, neck or décolletage. Do not apply the acid to the same area more than once.

Step 3: Allow the peel to set for no more than 3 minutes during the first application. Observe the reaction and note the results. During future treatments, you may increase the peel time up to 8 minutes, at which point the acid will self neutralize. If the skin feels uncomfortable, you may apply a cool water gauze compress to calm the sensation.

Step 4: Remove the peel by applying the Neutralizer Solution directly over the applied area. Rinse the skin with cool water and gently pat dry.

Step 5: Apply a hydrating serum, such as the Hyaluronic Replenish Serum, and finish with a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or more

We recommend using the product 90 days after opening maximum. Unopened and kept in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, some products can last up to 2 years. DESCRIPTION

WHAT IT IS:
Salicylic acid is a BHA that exfoliates skin and can improve its texture and color. It also helps with acne and acne scarring.

WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO:
Salicylic acid works by softening keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure. This helps to loosen dry scaly skin making it easier to remove. In acne, topical salicylic acid helps slow down shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging.

FOR BEST RESULTS:
We recommend adding on the Premium Salicylic Peel Essentials Kit to accompany this chemical peel.

Before Your Peel
For best results, prep the skin for a week prior to peel application with the salicylic 2% daily exfoliator. We strongly recommend conducting a patch test 3 days before applying a peel to ensure no negative or unusual reactions occur.

After Your Peel
Generously apply Hyaluronic Serum or Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream as needed for tight, dry skin. Use a minimum of broad spectrum SPF 30 every day to protect healing skin. Begin using a daily exfoliator in between peels for long lasting results.

DOWNTIME:
Mild - The Salicylic 10% peel will have little to no downtime. During the application you may experience slight redness and burning but will subside after application. You may see some light peeling/flaking starting on day 4 or 5 and can last approximately 4-7 days.
