TCA 10% Skin Peel from MedPeel Skin Care - Medpeel

TCA 10% Peel - Light Strength

TCA is a deeper penetrating peel than AHA or BHA peels as it exfoliates the skin more rapidly upon initial contact. This TCA 10% peel is great for first-time TCA users of any skin type or tone, looking for a more potent treatment beyond AHA or BHA peels. TCA peels are effective for a range of skin conditions like blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture concerns.

Trichloroacetic Acid, also known as TCA, is an effective chemical agent used to exfoliate and renew skin. TCA acid penetrates the skin deeper than others upon initial contact, can exclusively peel isolated areas of the skin and can also be layered up to 4 times for a deeper exfoliation. The very first time you do any peel, a patch test should be performed first and only 1 layer should be applied for the treatment.

Higher strengths of TCA peels, like 20% or 30%, are not recommended for darker skin tones due to increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

FOR BEST RESULTS

We strongly recommend conducting a patch test 3 days before applying the peel to a large area of skin to ensure no negative or unusual reactions occur.

When applying any peel, it is important to first begin building up the skin's tolerance by starting with milder, lower strength acids before attempting stronger peels and by using a daily exfoliator for about a week prior to peel application.

Prepping the skin with an exfoliator, such as our Medpeel Glycolic 10% Daily Exfoliator, will ensure a more even, thorough absorption of the peel acid. Continuing to exfoliate regularly in between peel treatments will also prolong your results.

DOWNTIME:

The TCA 10% peel may have mild to moderate downtime depending on the number of layers applied and may produce some visible peeling or flaking of the skin. The skin may be a bit pink and tight for a few hours following the peel. It is important to use a broad spectrum sunscreen daily, with a minimum of SPF 30, to protect treated skin during the healing process.

TARGET SKIN CARE CONCERNS:

TCA effectively rejuvenates the skin, giving it a fresher and more vibrant look.

- Promotes collagen production

- Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and sun spots

- Improves skin texture and tone to enhance overall skin health

- Can be used as a spot treatment to target specific areas of concern

1oz Acid Peels contain 5-7 applications - This Peel can be repeated every 2 weeks or once the skin has completely healed from the last treatment

DIRECTIONS:

Please read complete instructions that arrive with your peel prior to application.

Step 1: Wash the skin with a gel based cleanser and pat dry. Wipe the Peel Prep Solution across the area to be treated to ensure the skin is properly cleansed.

Step 2: Apply the TCA 10% peel to a gauze pad and smooth it over the desired area of the face, neck or décolletage. Do not apply the acid to the same area more than once.

Step 3: Allow the peel to set for no more than 2 minutes during the first application. Observe the reaction and note the results. During future treatments, you may increase the peel time and/or add a second coat. If the skin feels uncomfortable, you may apply a cool water gauze compress to calm the sensation.

Step 4: Remove the peel by applying the Neutralizer Solution directly over the applied area. Rinse the skin with cool water and gently pat dry.

Step 5: Apply a hydrating serum, such as the Hyaluronic Replenish Serum, and finish with a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or more
